001 Shot Fired [text; action for Rocket Base]

I'm going to list a series of words.

If they are at all familiar to you please respond otherwise dismiss this.

Cold War
Spetsnaz
Lyndon B. Johnson
Nikita Khrushchev
Tselinoyarsk

[About an hour later on the Rocket frequency:]

My name is Adamska. Code name Ocelot. Call me either. I'm a GRU Major if that means anything to any of you.

I would like to speak with whomever is in charge here.

As for "Tselinoyarsk"...between that and "Spetsnaz", I'm going to assume your favor lies with the Soviets. I'd imagine an American would be more inclined toward a different set of political keywords, to say nothing of the fact that I doubt the average American would be able to spell either one properly in the first place.

How am I doing so far?

Ochen priyatno.

For my next guess, I'm going to assume you're hoping someone in particular will recognize all of those terms, and respond to you.

Moreover, I'll bet at least one of them is a term that only the person you're looking for will recognize.

I take it you're new, then. It sounded as though you might've been, but it was hard to be sure.

You're cautious enough that we're both well aware you have no particular reason to trust me. But if you feel like taking a crack at it anyway, I can try to answer some of your questions.

It's called "Johto". There's a map available on the device you're using to speak with me, but to save you some trouble finding it, just open this file, instead.

I hope you're planning on offering a few answers in exchange. Quid pro quo, after all.

But you're right. If there's a reason for it, it's not one we've figured out yet.

A name would be nice, to start with. A codename is fine, if you'd rather; I'm not picky. I'd just like something to call you.

Does rank?

I'm assuming you're with the GRU.

You won't find many people here who know what that means, though the rank ought to earn you some respect either way. People are hardwired to treat a title with a certain reverence, even if it's one they've never heard before.

Are you in Goldenrod City right now, Major?

It would reveal whether or not I can extend you a little more advice about the place you've found yourself in. I'm fairly well-traveled around here; knowing where you are means I can tell you what to expect around you.

There's a Breeding Center a short distance from the Goldenrod Pokemon Center; if you give them credentials and demonstrate that you're new, they'll give you a free Pokemon egg. They usually take about a week to hatch, and that's one easy way of augmenting a team early on.

Also, I can recommend an excellent restaurant in the commercial district.

Martin's. There's a red awning with white trim and small white fairy lights on the bushes surrounding the patio.

If you've got a craving for your hometown cuisine, you're going to have a hard time finding a very wide selection around, but they make a fairly tasty stroganoff — or something close enough to call it one.
